Super-uper-duper excited about these hollows!
Barring the time consuming part, these are one of my current favorites to make due to the reactions possible. The second set is more of my Moroccan inspired beads- the patinas make them seem old and recently dug up and all that practice is fine-tuning my precision, always a plus.
Beating myself up a little since I didn’t make a necklace to wear with this style. Had laser vision about building up enough stock for the show since I have a whole table to fill. Ah, well- there’s always next year!
These will also be going to the BABE! 2013 show this weekend. I’ll be at table 711.
It’s nearly here, leaving on a plane for CA in a couple days and these pics are some of the inventory for the BABE! show. I’m table 711, stop by and say howdy!
Here is the link for the discount coupon good for both days of the show.
Sometimes I enjoy making a certain style or experimenting so often, that I forget customers like to see different styles in the shop. So I revisited my Cirque series and made a capped and cored hollow in more muted colors. Very autumnal, I suppose- and at a reduced rate! (didn’t see the slight imperfection on one of the top bead caps, grrr)
Did I mention I’ll be at BABE! this year? So stoked! Reeeally missed going last year and seeing all the lovely people. If you’ll be going, stop by and say howdy. The table assignments will be coming out soon, I’m sure, and I’ll let you know where I’ll be 🙂
Can’t believe I forgot to blog/brag about my upcoming teaching gig! It will be at the fabulous Blue Moon Glassworks in Austin, TX on the weekend of November 23-24th. Jim and Rose are pretty awesome people and I’m stoked that I’ll be teaching my first class in such a great environment. If you’re interested in signing up and learning all my secrets, just give them a call: 512-380-0770
Also got a couple new listings posted to Etsy this morning:
Oh! and I’ll be at BABE! next month, too- woohoo! So many wonderful things coming up waaaay too soon.
I’m redonkulously in love with the above bead- something about the color and design makes my heart sing. Finally restocking the Etsy shop, loaded a bit of eye candy to peruse.
In the final stretch, shipping my box for the show tomorrow, need to make something to wear for myself. So excited to be seeing my beady people again, such a long drought of no meetings, interactions, etc. will have me soaking up the inspiration and conversation like a sponge!
Still experimenting in this style- the metallic iridescence is difficult to convey in photos, much richer in person.
And I meant to put together a collage of some of my best work, moments, etc…but a madly teething baby is currently taking up most of my time. Maybe later..maybe.
So here is a pic of what I’ve been working on these past few weeks when I’ve had the time. It’s going to be a very belated wedding gift to my cousin and his wonderful new wife. The quilt top is made up of half-square triangle blocks sewn into a herringbone pattern. The chartreuse shot cotton and natural linen look great together, the colors are hard to portray on the screen since shot cotton has a color-shifting ability depending on how you look at it due to differing colors in the warp and weft of the fabric.
Anyhoo, happy New Year to you all! and once little girl stops being so grouchy maybe my mind can wrap around the idea that another year has so quickly slipped by.
